Dadeldhura bus accident: Death toll reaches five, 12 critically injured referred to Dhangadhi

According to the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, Upendra Bam, the body of the woman was found this morning in the course of search and rescue works.

Kathmandu: The death toll in the Dadeldhura bus accident has reached five. The number of those killed in the accident reached five after the body of Gobani Mahara (60 years old) of Purchaudi municipality-10 was found at the incident site at 11:00 am today.

According to the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, Upendra Bam, the body of the woman was found this morning in the course of search and rescue works. The accident took place when a bus (Na 8 Kha 1078) fell some 300 meters down the road at Khasrekhan of Amargadhi municipality-7 in Dadeldhura on Tuesday night.

The bus was en route to Purchaudi of Baitadi district from Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur. Identities of four other people killed on the spot were already ascertained.

Bam further said 12 people including the bus driver, Birendra Bohara, who were injured critically have been sent to Dhangadhi for further treatment. Similarly, 11 others were injured in the incident.

The reason behind the bus accident is yet to be ascertained. Police have continued the search thinking that other people might have gone missing in the accident. Locals are also helping police in search and rescue works.
