DHM: Forecast of heavy rain in country

Kathmandu: The weather will be generally cloudy to completely cloudy, due to the influence of Monsoon winds active across the country there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places of all the provinces.

Furthermore, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Koshi, Madhes, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces on Thursday. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM)  heavy rain may occur at one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces on Thursday, the weather will continue to remain generally to completely cloudy over the country, with a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.

DHM said heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini regions. There is possibility of storm in some places of Tarai. It has predicted the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in all the provinces in the next 24 hours.

Pointing out the possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in all provinces and very heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Department warned of the risk of floods, landslides, inundation in urban and Tarai areas, and hence has requested all concerned to remain vigilant.
