Order issued to show reason in Durga Prasai's habeas corpus writ

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has rejected to jail free to Durga Prasai, who was arrested in a case of character assassination.

A single bench of Judge Prakash Man Singh Raut on Tuesday, ordered to show the reason in the name of the government, while hearing the writ of habeas corpus filed by Prasai’s son Nirajan Prasai.

Prasai claimed that he was detained illegally in custody, and demanded an interim order for his immediate release.

Likewise, Central Member of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Tika Sangraula filed a complaint against Prasai in charge of the Cyber Bureau. Police Cyber Bureau based on the complaint arrested Prasai from his residence Bhaktapur on Sunday.
