Police detain Mayor Balen’s supporters at Basantapur

Kathmandu: Police have detained 13 supporters of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah ‘Balen’, after a dispute in Indra Jatra.

Police detained them who came to Basantapur premises, by wearing t-shirts with the photo of KMC Mayor Balen, in Indra Jatra on Tuesday.

They are kept at Metropolitan Police Circle, Janasewa. District Police Kathmandu SSP Basanta Rajaule said they are kept in the police premises for their safety.

SSP Rajaule said there was dispute between locals and people wearing t-shirts with Balen’s photo, and to avoid more clashes the people were arrested and kept in the police premises.
