Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) has honored para-taekwondo athlete Palesha Govardhan with a cheque of 500 thousand rupees.
Organizing a program at the party’s office at Sanepa on Sunday, NC honored Palesha and her team for bagging a bronze medal in the Paris Paralympics 2024. NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba handed over a cheque of 500 thousand rupees.
Likewise, Para-Taekwondo Coach Kabi Raj Negi Lama was given 150 thousand rupees. Another taekwondo player Bharat Singh Mahat, who also participated in the championship, received 50 thousand rupees.

NC’s President Deuba congratulated for making a historic win. He said that NC would always stand for the development of the sports sector.
Palesha won a bronze medal in the Women’s under 44 category, by defeating Serbia’s Marija Mičev by 15- 8.
