Prachanda : Newari civilization similar to socialism

Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the practice of sharing and self-sustaining economy inside the Newari civilization is almost similar to the socialist system. Chairperson Dahal said that the practice must be promoted.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the once-in-a-12-year fair in Khokana of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward Number-21, the originality of the newari civilization must be continued and must be connected with tourism and economic prosperity.

Pointing to the economic independence, social harmony, cultural originality, and camaraderie, present in the Newari civilization, which gives the reflection of a republican state, as the fetus of the socialist system, Chairperson Dahal said the Newari culture was not only playing a vital role to preserve its own but also helping to promote the culture and social system of the whole nation.
