PM Oli: If People’s War was great, why was there need to join peace process?

Kathmandu: Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has questioned CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda for leaving the People’s War and coming for the peace process.

Addressing a program to mark the 21st Civil Service Day today, PM Oli questioned Chairperson Dahal why he left the People’s War if it was great.

The Prime Minister said, ‘There was violence in our nation, it needed to be managed. I hear few people glorifying it. If it was that was great, why did you leave the path? Why was there a need to come into the peace process? If the People’s War was that great, you must have made it successful. People’s War is People’s War. It cannot fail. If it’s a people’s war, it would not fail. It would not fail after it happened.’

Similarly, PM Oli warned the CPN (Maoist Centre) not to glorify violence.

PM Oli said, ‘The way must be changed. The policies that I applied were not right during the Jhapa revolution, were not right, so I changed them to move ahead. Similarly, the useless violence started by others must also be left. It must be changed. We can not move ahead by glorifying the violence.’
