Yogesh Bhattarai indicating ‘People’s War’ as ‘violence’ turns HoR ambiance stressful

Kathmandu: A heated argument occurred between the ruling coalition party CPN (UML) and the opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre).

CPN(UML) lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai indicated the 10-year People’s War, led by CPN(Maoist Centre), as ‘violence’  in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Wednesday. Just after the use of the terminology, the ambiance of the meeting became stressful.

‘It is violence. Not allowing to speak here is also violence. It is violence, ‘ said lawmaker Bhattarai.

Countering the words of Bhattarai, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Devendra Paudel said the CPN (UML) defies the law. Demanding that Bhattarai’s  word ‘Violence’ must be removed from the record, Paudel said, ‘Let’s not act to disrupt the peace process.’

‘The words used here are not as per our rules, and laws. I demand the word to be removed from the record, ‘ said Paudel.
