Basnet: Nepali Society feels absence of Pradeep Giri

Kathmandu: Former Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Secretary Shakti Bahadur Basnet has said that Nepali Society felt the absence of the late Pradeep Giri.

Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 2nd Memorial Day of Nepali Congress leader and Socialist thinker Pradeep Giri on Tuesday, Basnet commented about the absence of Giri.

‘Pradeep Giri was not only the leader, not only a party, he was more like a socialist thinker. Today where Nepali society is heading, his absence is being felt,’ said Basnet.

On a different note, Basnet said socioeconomic conditions have not progressed as per the change of the system. ‘There are many issues we need to solve. We have made the political system inclusive but many weaknesses are revealed upon closer analysis,’ said Basnet.

Leader Basnet said that the changed system would also demand correct habits and conduct.
