Probe against Sheikh Hasina for genocide at International Tribunal

Kathmandu: A case of the International Criminal Tribunal for crimes against humanity, including murder, genocide, and torture, has been filed against Bangladesh’s Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Bangladesh’s interim government under the supervision of the United Nations will investigate the incident. Interim Government Law Adviser Professor Dr. Asif Narzul, said the role of Sheikh Hasina, during the protest, in the repression and deaths of students will be investigated.

Deputy Director of Tribunal Ataur Rahman said,  ‘A complaint has been filed and the investigation has begun. We will submit the report to the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Tribunal for further proceeding after the completion of the investigation.’

Likewise, the case was filed by the Supreme Court Lawyer. According to Bangla Newspaper Daily Star Official ‘The father of the student who died from police firing filed a case. Aarif Ahmed class student was shot during the protest on August 5. He died after 2 days.’

Haisna’s government Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, dozens of Ministers and Officials have also been accused of crimes against humanity at the International Tribunal. Similarly, 3 cases were filed against Hasina in the past 2 days.
