Paris Olympics: Sifan wins title of Women’s Marathon

Kathmandu: Sifan Hassan has won the title of women’s marathon in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Sifan, from the Netherlands, completed the distance of 42.195 km in 2:22:55 on Sunday 11 August.
Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia in a sprint finish to cap a remarkable personal campaign in Paris.
Assefa fought hard to win silver in 2:22:58 with Kenya’s Hellen Obiri claiming bronze in 2:23:10.
Likewise, Santoshi Shrestha completed the marathon in 2: 55:06. She ranked 79th in the marathon. This was the second marathon of her sports career.
