Kathmandu: The service seekers at Bheri Hospital have been bearing the brunt after a CT scan machine conked out.
One of the service seekers Radheshyam Tharu from Taratal of Bardiya Madhuwan municipality said they were facing difficulty in getting CT scan service at the hospital.
‘I brought a patient believing that the hospital would provide adequate health services, but the essential machine, CT scan, was not functioning at all. Consequently, I had to get my sick relative to undergo the CT scan outside,’ he shared the plight.
The Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces refer patients for treatment at the Bheri Hospital located in Banke. It has been nearly a month since the CT scan stopped functioning at the hospital.
However, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Prakash Thapa said that they were working actively to smoothen the service. Dr. Thapa also briefed Health Secretary Dr. Roshan Pokharel about the problems and demanded new medical equipment. Secretary Dr. Pokharel is currently on a visit to Nepalgunj.
Secretary Dr Pokhrel said there was no possibility of purchasing a new CT scan machine for now. So, maintenance was essential.
