NC Lawmakers, along with Deuba, discuss air safety measures with PM Oli

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) Lawmakers, along with its party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, have discussed the air safety measures of the country with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

NC Lawmaker Rajendra Bajgain said there were discussions on current issues, including the progress of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) bifurcation bill to be forwarded by Parliament.

Likewise, PM Oli and NC President Deuba discussed the measures for tourism development and promotion, making the air safety system secure and reliable.

Expressing interest in Nepal’s air safety, the European Union (EU) suggested even the division of the regulatory bodies.  NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar, Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Lawmakers Ishwari Neupane, Sanjaya Gautam, Udaya Shinsher Rana were present in the meeting.

Similarly, Rajan KC, Partima Gautam, Rajendra Bajgain, Sartia Prasai, Ram Krishna Yadav, Pushpa Bahadur Shahi, Shanti Pariyar and Sita Mizar were also present at the meeting.

According to lawmaker Bajgain, the bill to divide the authority into 2 bodies was passed by the National Assembly, but it became dormant without being submitted to the House of Representatives (HoR).  The bill was proposed to create different entities for the responsibility of regulatory bodies and providing services.
