Bagmati Province’s Chief Minister Lama attains vote of confidence

Kathmandu: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama has attained a vote of confidence.

Chief Minister Lama got the votes of 64 Members of Parliament (MPs) in the provincial assembly meeting on Tuesday.  Of the 110 provincial assembly members, 37 Nepali Congress and 27 CPN (UML) MPs voted in favour of Chief Minister Lama’s proposal.

Likewise, 35 MPs from CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN(Unified Socialist), Rastriya Prajatantra and Nepali Party voted against the proposal, whereas Nepal Labor and  Farmers Party (NEMKIPA) stayed neutral.

Chief Minister Lama submitted a proposal to take a vote of confidence, as per sub-section 4 article 168 of the Constitution and sub-rule 1 of rule 143 of provincial assembly rules 2074.
