Nepal Rastra Bank prepares to unveil monetary policy

Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made preparations to unveil the monetary policy for the current financial year.

The NRB said that all preparation for the monetary policy for the financial year 2024-25 was completed and would be published on Friday.

NRB Assistant Information Officer Dr. Bhagwat Acharya said that the NRB Board of  Directors meeting would set the time. There were expectations for the policy to be unveiled in the 1st week of July (Shrawan) but it was postponed at the last moment.

Likewise, everyone is concerned about the policy as the nation is going through an economic crisis. Private sectors and stakeholders are eagerly waiting for the policy.

NRB Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari indicated that a flexible monetary policy would be introduced. Similarly, Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel said the policy would be introduced to address the current shortage.
