Lumbini CM Acharya takes oath and forms 9-member cabinet

Kathmandu: Lumbini Province Chief Minister (CM) Chet Narayan Acharya has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

CM Acharya even expanded the cabinet just after the oath ceremony. Chief Minister Acharya formed an 8-member cabinet, comprising leaders from the CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress.

CM Acharya appointed non-departmental ministers after the discussion between the CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress (NC) failed to reach an agreement regarding the ministries.

Dhanendra Karki from Gulmi, Saroj Thapa from Pyuthan, Prachanda Bikram Neuapane from Dang, and Badshah Kurmi from Banke are the leaders from NC, who have been appointed as the Ministers. The name of Janmajaya Timilsina was removed from the list due to the conflict in the NC.

Likewise, Bhumeshwar Dhakal, Dinesh Panthi, Khem Bahadur Saru, and Sita Sharma are the CPN (UML) leaders, who became the ministers.

All the ministers, along with CM Acharya, took the oath of office and secrecy.CM Acharya said the ministers will be assigned the ministries by tomorrow. Until then, CM Acharya will be handling the responsibility of all the ministries.
