Home Minister Lekhak directs to investigate case of former Minister giving 5000 bribe

Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said the government is serious regarding the incident, shared by Janata Samajwadi Party Lawmaker and former minister Birendra Mahato, about bribing five thousand rupees as a bribe for verifying the certificate of his son.

Answering the queries of the Members of Parliament (MPs) in the parliament meeting on Tuesday, Minister Lekhak said he had already talked about the incident with MP Mahato on a personal level.

‘I spoke with him on a personal level and urged him to identify the person. Direction has been given to the police to investigate the incident immediately. The government has taken the matter seriously,’ said Minister Lekhak.

MP Mahato said he gave a bribe to complete the process of certificate equivalence.
