Demonstration against reservation turning violent at Bangladesh

Kathmandu: The demonstrators demonstrating against reservation have set fire to the government television in Bangladesh.

Demonstrators set fire to the government’s main broadcaster BTV on Thursday. Demonstrators while attacking TV premises set fire to 60 vehicles and an office building. They became outraged when the police opened fire when they set fire to the police station.

After an outraged crowd began attacking upon police, some police officers went inside the TV office to take shelter. Demonstrators reached the BTV office by following police officers.

Likewise, students have been demonstrating for a few days, in a demand to reform in the civil service and cancellation of the reservation system introduced by the government. Students’ demonstrations increasingly turning violent.  According to APF, 39 have died in the scuffle so far.
