NC replies CPN (Maoist Centre)- Constitutional amendment, and review not a regression but advancement

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) has said the constitutional amendment is an advancement.

Participating in the ongoing House of Representatives meeting for a vote of confidence, NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak commented upon the matter of the constitutional amendment.

‘Constitutional amendment and review is not a regression but an advancement, ‘ said Chief Whip Lekhak. Countering the CPN (Maoist Centre) claim of the constitutional amendment as a regressive step, Chief Whip Lekhak explained the scenario.

NC and CPN(UML) signed an agreement for the constitutional amendment on the 1st of July.

Lekhak said that NC and CPN (UML) united as per the need. ‘The specific situation arose in the nation for the agreement between two big parties. There is a theoretical and practical basis for it. Based on it, we agreed,’ said Lekhak .
