CPN (Maoist Centre): CPN(UML)-NC united after Budhanilkantha and Balkot were about to get dragged into Bhutanese Refugee and Giribandhu scandal

Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairperson K.P. Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba signed a draft of an agreement in Chapali Height at 12:45 a.m.

Oli and Deuba will become the Prime Minister turn by turn, as per the draft. Oli will be the Prime Minister in the first stage and then Deuba will take the leadership in the second stage.

The draft also mentions the constitutional amendment and announces other small parties to participate in the government.

The third largest party CPN (Maoist Centre) has seriously taken the agreement. Especially, the CPN (Maoist Centre) leaders have developed a suspicion regarding the point of the constitutional amendment in the draft.

CPN (Maoist Centre) General Secretary Dev Gurung informed Nepal Views, ‘How can the constitution be amended by signing a draft at midnight? This is only possible after a long discussion in the parliament. There should not be a good intention in this agreement. This seems like a game of turning all the achievements dull and dragging the Constitution back to the 2047 B.S.’

Agreement between Deuba and Oli to form new government

General Secretary Gurung defined the agreement between the two major parties regarding the constitutional amendment as a “regressive step.” He said,’Regressive forces, backward forces,  amend the constitution in the middle of the night. The achievements, received through the constitution, should not be snatched from the public.’

Another leader of the CPN (Maoist Centre) accused the step of the two major parties after being afraid of the anti-corruption campaign of the government. The leader analyzed the agreement as CPN (UML)-NC exchanging the scandals.
