19 police officers and general public killed in Russia’s North Caucasus attack

Kathmandu: An attack from unidentified gunmen has resulted in heavy casualties in Russia.

19 Police Officers and dozens of the general public have been killed in an attack on police stations, churches and synagogues in Russia’s North Caucasus. According to BBC, 6 gunmen have also been killed.

Likewise, 16 injured people have been taken to hospital. 3 days of mourning have been declared in Dagestan, the Muslim majority in southern Russia’s neighbour Chechnya.

In video footage on social media, it shows that some people dressed in black fire guns at the police car. Attackers attacked and lit fire at the synagogue and church. Dagestan was a centre of Islamic attacks in past.

However, no official identification of attackers has been revealed. In a posted video on Telegram. Head of Sergey Melikov indicated that Ukraine was involved in the attack and now Dagestan will also involved in Russia’s war on Ukraine.
