Special designation, similar to Chief Secretary, created for automatically suspended Dr. Baikuntha Aryal

Kathmandu: The government has formed a new designation for suspended Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal. The cabinet meeting, held on Monday, transferred Dr. Aryal into a new post.

‘The Chief Secretary of the Nepal Government Dr. Baikuntha Aryal has automatically been suspended after the Commission for Investigation of the Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case in the Special case against him. We have decided to transfer him by forming a Special post of Chief Secretary in the National Planning Commission gazetted as a special category, ‘ said the government Spokesperson Rekha Sharma.

‘No one is guilty just because of a filed case but there is a provision of remaining in suspension when the case is going on, ‘ said Minister Sharma, ‘On one side, he is in the phase of suspension, on the other side, the designation has not been vacant. Hence, we made a new designation as the way has not been open for deciding the role.’

According to Minister Sharma, the special designation will be created during the suspension of Dr. Aryal. The special position will be removed automatically with the end of his suspension. She said that the authority was transferred and the remaining work would be carried out as per the direction of the court.
