Prem Suwal: Immediately abolish Investment Board

Kathmandu: Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party Member of Parliament (MP) Prem Suwal has demanded to abolish the investment board.

Addressing the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting to discuss the allocated budget of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, and the Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday, MP Suwal put forth his demand.

MP Suwal demanded the immediate abolishment of the board, formed under the leadership of the Prime Minister to attract foreign investment, as instead of development it was turning the nation into a colony.

Similarly, MP Suwal also demanded to remove all the industrial sectors inside the Kathmandu Valley. He said the sectors need to be removed to conserve the environment of the valley.

The MP opposed the policy of the government of building physical infrastructure and seeking foreign investment. He said, ‘It’s our land, our labor, and the policy to make the foreign investment rule in the place is not acceptable.’

MP Suwal even suggested the government move ahead with the plans for the industrial sector by utilizing Nepal’s resources.
