Who will be India’s next Prime Minister?

Kathmandu: The discussion about the New Prime Minister has begun.

The discussion begins after the more than half vote count ends of the General Election held in India. The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition India Alliance have begun to exercise forming a new government.

There is a hurdle for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is almost certain not to get to a single majority.

Likewise, the discussion is going on that the India Alliance pulling some of the parties in the NDA Alliance to form the government. According to the vote count so far BJP led NDA Alliance would cross 272 out of 543, whereas the opposition alliance is expected to win around 250 seats. Thus the analysis begins with whoever can be Prime Minister.

Indian media claims that the opposition party is attempting to pull some of the parties in the NDA alliance. Mainly: India Alliance attempting to pull the Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal-United (JDU) and Chandrababu Naidu led- Telugu Desam Party (TDP) .

JDU is leading with 14 seats and TDP leading with 16 seats. The opposition assumed that Modia could be dismissed from the government if the opposition gets nearly 30 seats by combining JDU and TDP.

Similarly, many have denied the possibility of Nitish Kumar known as ‘Paltu Chacha’ joining the India alliance. The opposition seems to be excited due to wrangling in TDP’s NDA alliance. But if these 2 leaders remain in the NDA, the next PM will certainly be Narendra Modi.

Whereas, if the opposition alliance manage to achieve a majority, then Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be the contender for the Prime Ministership. But, the experts assumed that the India alliance could propose other leaders for the Prime Minister.

BJP which was leading the power in states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka suffered a big blow as per the latest vote count.

BJP attained better results than before in Odisha and some states in the south seem to save the government.
