Minister of Finance Pun’s announcement to sell electricity to Bangladesh next year

Kathmandu: The government has said that Nepal’s electricity will be supplied to Bangladesh from the next financial year.

Minister of Finance Barshaman Pun said that Bangladesh is ready to sell the electricity. H said that in the next fiscal year, 900 megawatts of electricity will be added to the National System.

Likewise, he said that the current per capita electricity consumption capacity is 380 kilowatts and the goal is to increase it to 450 kilowatts in the coming year.

Minister Pun also said that the government has given special priority to the construction of reservoir projects to address the demand of the dry season.

He said that the construction of Dudhkoshi with a capacity of 635 megawatts and Nalgad Hydropower project with a capacity of 417 MW would also be progressed.
