NC: Home Minister’s speech in Parliament defamed MPs

Kathmandu: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC)’s Joint Central Working Committee and Parliamentary Party meeting is ongoing.

The meeting is going on at the party’s office, Sanepa. The leaders are discussing contemporary politics.

According to NC Leader Dr. Dila Sangraula, the discussion regarding the statement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, the parliamentary inquiry committee and the Formation of  TOR discussion is ongoing.

Dr. Sangraula said NC leaders have pointed out the current government is walking on the path of authoritarianism. She said, ‘There has been a saying “If community unites, one can not even cry”, the situation has become like that. The government became authoritarian. The oppositions are not being counted, ruthless action must be taken against it. It must be passed immediately.’

Likewise, the discussion of the arrest of Kantipur Media House Chairperson Kailash Sirohiya is also going on. ‘Discussion has been raised that arresting the media directors from the office is undemocratic and unconstitutional. The meeting will also decide regarding it,’ said Dr. Sangraula.

Leaders in the meeting have said that a parliamentary inquiry committee should be formed against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

‘Billions amount have been embezzled, millions of depositors are victimized. Discussion is going on that all cooperative scams, including Surya Darshan, should be investigated. We are passing it. This is our last bottom line,’ said Sangraula.
