Taskforce meeting to finalize ‘TOR’ of parliamentary committee

Kathmandu: The meeting of the taskforce, to finalize the Terms of reference (TOR) of the parliamentary inquiry committee in the cooperative embezzlement fund, has begun.

The meeting is going on in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. The task force member, from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), lawmaker Shishir Khanal has agreed to make a mandate including the name of the Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

Before the beginning of the meeting, Khanal said RSP would not be part of the task force if it became the reason behind the disagreement. He said that RSP Chairperson Lamichhane sent the message to prepare the mandate by including his name.

Lawmaker Khanal said that RSP was ready to include the name of Chairperson Lamichhane in the mandate. The task force has been formed under the leadership of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri.

Nepali Congress lawmaker Jeewan Pariyar, CPN (UML) Mahesh Bartaula, and RSP lawmaker Khanal. NC leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki also attended the meeting.

An attempt to reach a point of agreement is going on due to the increasing conflict between the ruling and the opposition party. Both sides have appeared flexible in reaching a point of agreement.
