Opposition requests Speaker not to operate HoR session unless finalization of TOR

Kathmandu: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting has become uncertain. The HoR meeting was scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The Speaker Secretariat said the opposition parties have requested the Speaker not to allow the operation of the parliament unless the finalization of the terms of reference (TOR) of the parliamentary inquiry committee.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi went to the Speaker Ghimire to inform the decision of the meeting.

Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak went to Singhadurbar after there was a need for his support to finalize the mandate of the committee. Then, the meeting became uncertain.

The major parties agreed to form the parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate the cooperative’s embezzlement deposits. A meeting of the task force to investigate the case is going on.

Likewise, the opposition parties decided to permit Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister Rabi Lamichhane to speak in the parliament.
