Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Dirgha Sodari has obtained a vote of confidence.
The majority of the members of the provincial assembly gave a vote of confidence in the meeting on Thursday.
28 provincial assembly members were present in the voting. All of the 28 votes were in favor of Chief Minister Sodari. whereas zero votes in against, and neutral. Out of a total of 53 members of the assembly, the Nepali Congress (NC) and Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) boycotted the voting.
NC and NUP demonstrated the meeting. The party members encircled the well before the start of the meeting. They enchanted slogans, ‘Abolish unconstitutional action of the province’, ‘Abolish illegal appointment’ etc.
However, the Speaker in the middle of the demonstration proceeded with the vote of confidence process. The speaker gave Chief Minister Soadri time to submit a proposal for the vote of confidence.
NC and NUP said the Speaker showed dictatorship behavior by saying he gave time to Sodari. Earlier, the MPs of the Nepali Congress and Nagarik Unmukti Party also adjourned the first meeting on Thursday. After that MPs of NC and NUP boycotted the meeting and voting.
