Kathmandu: A writ has been filed against Gandaki Province Government in Supreme Court.
Former Chief Minister and Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Surendra Raj Pandey filed writ to revoke the appointment of Chief Minister Khagraj Adhikari.
In a writ petition Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta, Speaker Krishna Prasad Dhital and others have been made opponents. Supreme Court fixed the date of hearing of petition on Wednesday.
Likewise, in writ petition it has been claimed that Chief Minister of the province appoint Chief Minister in an unconstitutional manner, as the Province Chief accordance with article 266 sub section 2 of the constitution must take advice and consent of then Chief Minister, while exercising duties and powers.
Adhikari became Chief Minister on Monday, by showing the signature of Speaker as majority . Pandey also drew attention of the Province Chief not to accept the claim signed by Speaker.
After Adhikari was appointed Chief Minister, Pandey reached the Supreme Court on Tuesday, raising questions about the government formation process.
