Gandaki Province Chief sets deadline to form new government

Kathmandu: After the resignation of Surendra Raj Pandey, Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta has called upon the political parties to submit claims for the designation of Chief Minister, within 7 days.

According to sub-section (2) of Article 168 constitution, the Province Chief has set a deadline to assert a claim for the formation of a majority government till 3:00 p.m., on 9 April( Chaitra 27).

Gandaki Chief Minister Pandey resigns

Province Chief Bhatta said that if any party fails to submit a majority within the deadline as per clause (3) of the same article. Pandey will be appointed as Chief Minister as the leader of the largest party.

Pandey resigned from the post on Wednesday.
