Netherlands registers second victory, Namibia defeated by 59 runs

Kathmandu: The Netherlands has registered its second victory in the Tri-Nation T20I series. The Netherlands defeated Namibia by 59 runs in T.U. International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Namibia failed to chase the target of 248 runs. Namibia scored 188 runs with a loss of 7 wickets. Jan Frylinck scored 42 runs for the team. Zane Green was unbeaten at 42 runs. Timm van der Gugten took 2 wickets for Netherlands. Vivian Kingma, Fred Klaassen, Aryan Dutt, Sybrand Engelbrecht, and Roelof van der Merwe took 1 wicket each for the team.

In the first innings, Netherlands scored 247 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 5 wickets. Melvin Levitt scored a century for the Netherlands. He scored 135 runs out of 62 balls smashing 11 boundaries and 10 sixes. This is the first T20I century of Levitt for the Netherlands. Engelbrecht scored 75 runs for the team. Ruben Trumpelmann took 2 wickets for Namibia. Jan Frylinck and Ben Shikongo took 1 wicket each for the team.

With this victory, the Netherlands has been promoted to the top of the point table. And Namibia has stepped down to the second place. Pointless Nepal is at the bottom of the table. Nepal will play its third match against Namibia on Friday.
