Kathmandu: Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav has said that religious activities have motivated mankind to adopt positive thinking and move on the right path.
Vice President Yadav inaugurated the religious program – Sitaram Nam Sankritan Mahayagya Ek Saya Aath Kunja Ebam Nau Diwasiya Shree Bishnu Mahayagya that commenced at the local Sugar Mill premises at Pipara, Birgunj Metropolitan City-14 on Sunday. He even viewed that religious rituals such as Mahayana and land worship sacraments, among others, have been encouraging to maintain goodwill among humans and guide them on the right path.
He expressed his belief that religious rituals would contribute towards fostering peace and fraternity when disturbance is increasing in the society due to mutual discord and misunderstanding and wished that Mahayagya would promote peace and mutual unity.
Likewise, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal said that religion encouraged people to adopt the path of truth, compassion and contribution of religious preachers importance in protecting religion. On the occasion, Vice President Yadav honored various personalities for their support in making the Mahayagya successful.
The Mahayagya will run for nine days. Senior narrator Sadhawi Laxmi Mata and other speakers will conduct the Mahayagya. It is estimated that 1 million devotees will participate in the Mahayagya, said Ram Prabesh Prasad Kurmi, the coordinator of the Mahayagya Management Committee. Various religious and cultural programs will be held as part of the Mahayagya.
