Kathmandu: An International Criminal Police Organization ‘INTERPOL’ has issued a diffusion notice against Amala Rokaya, who has been accused of being involved in the 60-kg gold smuggling.
According to CIB, a diffusion notice was issued against CPN(Maoist) leader Amala Rokaya, who is a resident of Rolpa.
Spokesperson Superintendent of Police (SP) Navraj Adhikari said that Interpol issued a diffusion notice against Rokaya on 5 February.
Rokaya is the wife of Tibetan-origin Belgian citizen Dawa Chiring. She is the manager of Hotel Vienna, Thamel. Rokaya is even a former vice chairperson of the Rolpa-Kathmandu contact forum; a close wing of CPN(Maoist).
Likewise, the CIB Investigation concludes that Rokaya’s involvement was found in 60 Kg 716 grams of gold brought from Hong Kong. Police conclude that Rokaya’s involvement in a gold smuggling case is linked to her husband, whereas her husband Chiring is in custody.
