Kathmandu: Nepal has lost the match against Bangladesh in the ICC U-19 World Cup.
Nepal lost the match against Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the Super 6 stage of the tournament in Manguang Oval, Bloemfontein.
Bangladesh successfully chased the target of 170 runs in 25.2 overs with a loss of 5 wickets. Ariful Islam was not out in 59 runs. Jishan Alam scored 55 runs for the team. Subash Bhandari took 5 wickets for Nepal. He completed his fifer with a loss of 44 runs with 8 overs bowled.
In the first innings, Nepal gave a target of 170 runs to Bangladesh.
Nepal won the toss and chose to bat first. Bangladesh packed Nepal in 49. 5overs. Nepal scored 169 runs in the first match of the Super 6.
The performance of Nepali batsmen was not up to the mark against Bangladesh. Only Bishal Bikram KC and Captain Dev Khanal scored good runs for Nepal. KC contributed 48 and Khanal 35 runs. Other batsmen failed to contribute decent scores for the team.
Similarly, Bangladesh bowlers Rohanat Doullah Borson and Sheikh Paevez Jibon succeeded in taking 3 wickets each for Bangladesh.
Now, Nepal will compete against India on Friday.
