Kathmandu: The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has issued a diffusion notice to an additional two people in the Suryadarshan Co-operative Limited’s savings embezzlement case.
The General Secretariat of INTERPOL issued the notice against Chairperson Than Bahadur Budhamagar and former Chairperson Bhupendra Rai on Sunday. Interpol issued a notice against Gitendra Rai (GB Rai) on Friday. The embezzlement case is of more than 1 billion(1 arba) rupees.
Just after the issuance of the notice, all the member countries of INTERPOL will try to locate the absconding accused.
Kaski District Court had ordered to keep Surya Darshan Cooperative Treasurer Kumar Ramtel in custody for the investigation of the case on 8 October 2023 (Asoj, 21), in charge of embezzling the deposited amounts. Vice-Chairperson Kailash Kumar Darlami, member Shiva Bahadur Gurung, and Bhagishwor Aryal are also in the custody.
Police issued an arrest warrant against 19 people, including GB Rai in the case. Out of 19, 15 are absconding.
