Dr. Shekhar Koirala: Centralized government in name of federalism creating problems

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said federalism is a good system.

Dr. Koirala said while addressing Pitaji Krishna Prasad Koirala Smriti- Samman 2080 distribution program on Tuesday. ‘Federalism is a good system,’ said Dr . Koirala,’ However, as we are running a centralized governance system that is attacking federalism we feel bad for this.’

Likewise, Dr. Koirala claimed the people passing comments about federalism being bad, would speak in favor of federalism in the upcoming days.

‘The corruption is increasing day by day. Impunity has crossed its limits. No one is accountable. No one is reliable. There is no transparency. And we say we are in a democratic republic, How can we improve it? Everyone needs to shift their attention towards that,’ said Dr. Koirala.
