Kathmandu: Police have arrested 9 people for running a factory; that used to manufacture fake liquor. Earlier, police arrested those people in the same case, but they succeeded in receiving bail.
The team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Division arrested them under ‘lima-3 operation’. Kathmandu Valley Crime Division DSP Anil Ghimire organized a press conference on Wednesday to inform regarding the case. DSP Ghimire said that they confiscated a large quantity of fake liquor.
The team, led by DSP Ghimire, found that a house, in Kageshwori, Manohara Municipality Ward No. 5, was rented for producing duplicate liquor. Then it was sent to the market.
Manoj Khatri, Binod Kumar Karki, Mohan Khadka, and Gaurav Tamang are among the arrested ones. Khatri has been arrested in the same case for 3rd time and received bail of 50 thousand on his first arrest, and a second time. Police said Vinod Karki absconded 3 times, and Gaurav Tamang was also arrested for 2nd time in the same case.

Police seized a large quantity of fake alcohol and materials to make counterfeit liquor, Police seized fake Khukuri Rum (288 bottles), Fighter Premium Drinks (900 bottles), 365 Days Black (96 bottles), Golden Oak (63), 8848 vodka (48), and Sagun Gold (15). Even found empty bottles and their caps.

Police said that they used to mix sugar in water, boil till its color turned black, fill it in a bottle, and sell it in the market. It has been found that such fake liquor is being sold at a much lower price than original liquor. Police are even searching for the purchaser of such liquor.
