Gagan emphasizes on high-profile personalities not escaping from Bhutanese refugee scandal

Kathmandu: General Secretary of Nepali Congress and member of House of Representative Gagan Thapa has demanded a thorough investigation into the Bhutanese refugee scandal.

Thapa demanded a fair investigation of the case involving high-profile personalities duping people into sending them to the United States of America as Bhutanese refugees.

Thapa said, ‘A VIP net has been found responsible for the act of taking people to the USA making fake Bhutanese refugees. The role that the home ministry has been playing is appreciable. This is not just an accident but a system. A deep-rooted investigation needs to be conducted. No one should get an escape as involved all are irrespective of their post and power. No one is above the law.’

Former Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and his son Sandeep Rayamajhi have been arrested for further investigation.
