Attacker stabs South Korean leader Lee Jae-myung with knife

Kathmandu: South Korea’s opposition leader Lee Jae-myung has been attacked with a knife.

An unidentified man attacked Lee with a knife in Busan on Tuesday. He was taken to the nearby hospital.

Police said that he was conscious and not in a critical state. But, his exact state has not been clear.

Lee was walking through a crowd of journalists after concluding his tour in the new airport of Busan. Police said that the attacker approached Lee for his autograph and stabbed his neck.

Lee suddenly fell to the ground. A person pressed his neck with a handkerchief to prevent the bleeding. 59 years old Lee is the opposition leader of the Democratic Party. He was fighting for another upcoming election.
