Kathmandu: Police have arrested demonstrating Human Rights Activists.

The demonstrators tried to break the prohibition order issued in Maitghar and attempted to conduct a protest against corruption including the Ncell share transaction scandal on Thursday.

Demonstrators from the Human Rights Activists and Peace Society raised their voices against the corruption cases.  Police arrested more than half a dozen people including the Founder and Chairperson of the Society Krishna Pahadi, Central Chairperson Ram Krishna Baral, and Former Chairperson Uttam Pudasaini.

Recently, District Administration Office, Kathmandu prohibited Maitighar till 21 November ( Poush 4)  due to a suspicious clash between Durga Prasai and Youth Association Nepal on 23 November (Mangsir 7).

The administration extended the prohibition in Maitighar and another area upto 16 February (Falgun 4) after the completion of the previous prohibition order.

According to the Police, they arrested activists after they tried to demonstrators in a prohibited area.  Arrested activists have been kept in the Police Station of Bhrikutimandap.
