Kathmandu: Police have restricted the demonstrators, who were moving towards Maitighar Mandala to break the prohibition order for the demonstration.

Demonstrators, who came along the way from Shantibatika to break the Maitghar’s restricted area had been stopped in Bhadrakali by police. Activists of the civil movement, Fédération of Kisan Majdur Samiti against loan sharks and fraud, Nepal’s activists, and the late Aarti Shah’s family from Shantibatika headed towards Maitighar with a demonstration procession.

Police intervened in the demonstration in Bhadrakali claiming Bhadrakali was the beginning point of the prohibited area.

The government declared Maitighar a restricted area for 1 month with effect from 20 November (Mangisr 4) at 8:00 pm due to the suspicious clashes between Durga Prasai and National Youth Federation Nepal (Youth wing) closer to CPN (UML) on 23 November (Mangsir 7).
