President Ram Chandra Paudel: Role of construction professionals important

Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has said construction professionals are important for the smooth functioning of the economy.

President Paudel commented upon the role of the construction professionals while addressing the inauguration of the 46th IFAWPACA conference (International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Associations). IFAWPACA is an umbrella organization of builders from Asia and the Western Pacific region’s 19 member countries.

President Paudel said the professionals, working in the infrastructure, must apply alertness as the natural calamities were increasing due to climate change.

President Poudel said,’ We must stick to the fact that our existence will last till the existence of the earth.  In this context of the member countries of the IFAWPACA facing the consequences of climate change, I have seen the need for this organization to prioritize the issues related to climate change.’

‘Physical infrastructure plays a vital role in the development of each country’s economy,’ said President Paudel,’ It is significant to apply special alertness by the professionals, who are engaged in the field of climate change. ‘

President Paudel remembered the recent visit of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres who discussed the climate change agenda as important. President Paudel urged people to reduce carbon emissions and build up infrastructure to preserve nature.

President Paudel even emphasized the infrastructure professionals to make technology-friendly exercise more comprehensive as the world is getting technology-friendly.
