Secretary-General Guterres: UN is ready to help in transitional justice

Kathmandu: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that the United Nations would support the transitional justice process.

Guterres talked about the transitional process while addressing a press conference in Singhadurbar. He said, ‘United Nations is ready to support. But, it must meet International criteria, the direction of the Supreme Court, and be victim-friendly.’

Guterres said that Nepal was in the process of being promoted to developing nations. He said that the peace process and transitional justice were in the last stage. ‘The transitional justice must bring justice to the victims, their families and peace to the society,’ said Guterres.
