3rd Day of Tika: People receiving jamara and tika from elder ones

Kathmandu: Today is the third day of Tika. The ones who were unable to put tika on Vijaya Dashami, receive tika from their relatives.

People visit their maternal uncle’s house and close one to take blessings. They go to the houses of their relatives to put on tika and get blessings till Kojagrat Purnima. Bustling can be seen on streets for putting tika.

There is a ritual of putting tika, jamara, and prasad from the elder ones, as the blessing of Durga Bhawani. It is believed that happiness, peace, prosperity, and glory come into life after receiving tika from respected ones.

Elder ones give blessings to the smaller ones while offering tika. It is believed that Dashain flourishes harmony, friendliness, and understanding among the family.
