People enjoying Dashain Swing (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: People have started swinging in linge ping (bamboo swing). Youths and children are enjoying the swing.

The swing has been installed in various parts of Kathmandu Valley. Even rote ping and jantey ping have been installed in a few places. But the number of swings is decreasing nowadays.

Despite the decreasing number, some swings are still saving the culture. The swing has its cultural significance. Swinging culture started before the invention of the airplane. There is a belief that one must leave the earth after wearing a Tika in Dashain.
