Triangular T20 Series: Nepal defeats UAE by 7 wickets

Kathmandu: Nepal has defeated UAE by 7 wickets in the first match of the Triangular T20 Series. Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel smashed a boundary on the last delivery to complete the target of 141 runs at Mulpani Cricket Ground.

Nepal completed the target in 18.5 overs losing 3 wickets. The partnership of 93 runs between Rohit and Dipendra Singh Airee played a vital role in Nepal bagging the victory. Rohit and Dipendra succeeded in holding their partnership when Nepal had 51 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.

Captain Rohit and Dipendra were unbeaten at 51 and 34 runs respectively. Opener batsman Aasif Sheikh scored 23, Kushal Bhurtel 14 and Kushal Malla 11 runs for Nepal. Nilansh Keswani and Ali Naseer took one wicket each for UAE.

Nepal won the toss and elected UAE to bat first in the previous inning. UAE scored 140 runs losing 7 wickets.

Basil Hameed scored 51 and Ali Naseer scored 32 runs for UAE. Other batters failed to shine. Karan KC succeeded in taking 3 wickets. Gulsan Jha took 2 and Sompal Kami as well as Abinash Bojhara took one wicket each.

UAE had 52 runs in hand, losing 4 wickets at 8.4 overs. But, Nepal failed to limit the target.
