Mayor of Maulapur Rina Kumari loses her position after joining her husband Prabhu Shah's party

Kathmandu: Rautahat’s Maulapur Municipality Mayor Rina Kumari Shah’s mayor position has been vacant.

According to the election commission, Mayor Shah’s post automatically became vacant when she joined Mayor Prabhu Shah’s party as per the defection act. Shah was elected as mayor of CPN(UML) in the 2079 election.

When Mayor Shah’s husband Prabhu Shah left the UML party and opened the Aam Janata Party, Mayor Shah also became contactless. CPN -UML took action against Shah for not clarifying repeated queries.
