Stranded Nepalese due to curfew being escorted towards their destination

Banke: The stranded Nepalese, at the Nepal-India border due to curfew in Nepalgunj, are being escorted towards their destination.

Senior Sub-Inspector Minbahadur Bista, in charge of the Jamunaha Police Office, said that the
Nepalese, who were stopped at the border area, were being escorted to their destination.

Bista said that More than 2000 Nepalese were in a stranded situation at the border area. They have coordinated with the transportation entrepreneurs to safely send the stranded Nepalese to their respective destinations.

Police said that about 500 Nepalese have been sent off from Jamunaha to Ranjha in the first stage. Nepalese, who had returned from India, were stranded since mid-night.

The number of Nepalese workers returning home is increasing with the approaching Dashain.
Nepalese go to Simla, Delhi, Punjab in search of job opportunities. Nepaljung’s market is in a peaceful state after the imposition of curfew by Nepaljung Sub-metropolitan for uncertain times inside the metropolitan area on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.

According to Bipin Archarya, Banke, Chief District Officer, there were no reports of violating  curfew. However, a few people who came out for their morning walk were sent back after counselling them about the situation. Police have been miking not to violate curfew.
