6.3 magnitude earthquake hits Bajhang

Kathmandu: A huge earthquake has hit the Sudurpaschim region. The earthquake of 6.3 Richter local magnitude (ML) struck Chainpur, Bajhang.

According to Lok Bijaya Adhikari, the Chief of the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake was recorded in Chainpur at around 3.06 p.m. on Tuesday.

The jolt of the quake was felt across several districts in Western Nepal. The information regarding destruction and casualties has not been reported yet.

According to experts, there are chances of huge quakes in the Sudurpaschim region anytime. It has been several months that the region has been facing repeated huge and small tremors.
